Ratanakiri overview

Ratanakiri Guide
If you are finally tired of bashing into Japanese tourists taking pictures of Angkor Wat it is time to take a trip to Ratanakiri. One warning, if you were put off by the amenities in your so-called four-star resort in Siem Reap, you should probably not bother since Ratanakiri is one of the poorest parts of Cambodia. It also happens to be one of the most beautiful parts of Cambodia and boasts some of the country's most diverse and amazing natural beauty. The landscape of Ratanakiri has a little something for just about any aesthetic as it has beautiful rolling hills, crater lakes, mountains, and some extremely biologically diverse rain forests, in case you were hoping to discover a new type of mosquito. Cambodia is currently trying to promote ecotourism in this region so that this beauty remains unspoiled by the types of gaudy resorts that are beginning to dominate the landscape of Cambodia.
